Snow Goose Wife by Inuit multimedia artist Nancy ᒪᑭᑦᑐᖅ Mike.
During this season of harvest and gratitude, we partnered with Inuk artist Nancy ᒪᑭᑦᑐᖅ Mike on a series that celebrates Indigenous leadership and innovation in education. Her work beautifully reflects the many ways EleV Program Partners are transforming education and implementing solutions for a just and prosperous future.
“Inuit storytelling is a very important tool for teaching,” says Nancy. "The Snow Goose Wife represents knowledge, being patient, and being aware of your surroundings.”
Through her work, Nancy — @pangniq — reflects her deep commitment to preserving Inuit culture and language. As an artist, nurse, and mother of four, she uses her diverse talents to challenge misconceptions about life in Nunavut, ensuring that the stories of her people are heard and appreciated.
